Julius W Harris who played Tee Hee Johnson in Live And Let Die died on 17th October 2004 in California aged 81.

Harris had worked as a nurse and a bouncer in the jazz clubs of New York before winning his first screen role in Nothing But a Man (1964). He later appeared in blaxploitation movies such as Superfly and Shaft’s Big Score, before securing the role of Tee Hee in Live And Let Die, which was notably influenced by the blaxploitation genre.

Geoffrey Holder, who played Baron Samedi in Live And Let Die, died on 5th October 2014.

Multi-talented Geoffrey Holder, who played Baron Samedi in Live And Let Die, died on 5th October 2014 after suffering from pneumonia.

Born in  Trinidad in 1930, Holder worked as actor, dancer, choreographer, director, costume designer, singer, painter and voice over artist. Playing one of the most memorable characters in all the James Bond film, he made the most of his deep bass voice and laugh in the role of top-hatted voodoo villain.

In 1975 Holder won two Tony awards for The Wiz, an all-black version of The Wizard of Oz, for direction and costume design.

Special effects wizard Derek Meddings died on this day in 1995. As well as the Bond films, his work appeared in Thunderbirds and Superman.

Renowned special effects wizard Derek Meddings died on 10th September 1995 from colorectal cancer. In Goldeneye’s credits, on which he worked, a dedication reads; “To the memory of Derek Meddings”.

As well as his work on the James Bond films, Meddings was known for Gerry Anderson’s supermarionation TV shows and on the Superman movies with Christopher Reeve. His first Bond film was Live And Let Die (1973).
