Monty Norman was born in London on 4th April 1928. He composed the soundtrack for Dr No, including the James Bond Theme. Arranged by John Barry, the track is instantly recognisable and absolutely iconic.

 

 

Joseph Wiseman died on this day in 2009. He played Dr Julius No in the first James Bond film.

Joseph Wiseman, who appeared as the very first Bond villain in Dr No (1962), died on 19th October 2009.

Although Wiseman preferred to be remembered for his stage career, he is best known for playing Dr Julius No after coming to the attention of Harry Saltzman in the film Detective Story (1951).
