James Bond, the ornithologist whose name was appropriated by Ian Fleming for his fictional spy, died on 14th February 1989 in Philadelphia. He was 89.

Louis Jourdan, who played Kamal Khan in Octopussy opposite Roger Moore, died on 14th February 2015 at his home in Beverly Hills. The French actor was 93.

Lois Maxwell was born in Ontario on this day in 1927. In 1962 Maxwell was offered the roles of Sylvia Trench or Miss Moneypenny. She opted for the latter and appeared in a total of 14 Bond films with three difference actors playing 007.

Joe Don Baker is one of few actors to appear in more than one Bond film in different major roles. After playing Brad Whitaker in The Living Daylights he came back in Goldeneye as CIA agent Jack Wade (+ TND). He was born in Texas on this day in 1936.

Maud Adams was born in Luleå, Sweden on 12th February 1945. After appearing as Andrea Anders in The Man With The Golden Gun she was asked back to play the title role in Octopussy.
