







The fourth James Bond film, Thunderball, premièred in Tokyo on 9th December 1965. Originally it was to have opened in the UK in October but post-production delays saw Japan as the opening territory.
Released at the height of Bondmania, after the effects of inflation are taken to account, Thunderball was to remain the highest grossing Bond film until Skyfall.

Martine Beswick, who played one of the two fighting gypsy girls From Russia With Love, Zora, and then Paula Caplan in Thunderball, was born in Port Antonio in Jamaica on 26th September 1941.

Sean Connery, who played James Bond in six films by Eon Productions as well as Kevin McClory’s Thunderball remake, Never Say Never Again, was born in Edinburgh on 25th August 1930.
For many fans Connery has never been bettered in the role of 007, bringing to the role the right balance between toughness and wit.

Adolfo Celi, who played Emilio Largo in Thunderball, was born in Sicily on 27th July 1922.
