Tuesday 14th November 2006 marked the Royal World Première of Daniel Craig’s eagerly awaited Bond debut, Casino Royale, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II.

After a certain element of the fan base railed against Craig as Pierce Brosnan’s successor and the British tabloid press went after him with a vengeance it must have been satisfying when early reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The majority of fans were overjoyed with the renaissance of Bond under Daniel Craig.

The première took place at three cinemas in London’s Leicester Square, the Odeon, the Empire and the Leicester Square Theatre. I was lucky enough to tread the red (and purple) carpet at the première.

On this day in 2015 SPECTRE premiered at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Royal World Premiere of SPECTRE, Daniel Craig’s fourth Bond movie, took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 26th October 2015. Cast and crew were in attendance to walk the red carpet, as well as dozens of Bond fans from around the world.

The approach to the Royal Albert Hall was spectacularly decorated in a Mexican theme, along with the Aston Martin DB10 and Jaguar C-X75, while Daniel Craig was interviewed by David Walliams. The whole event was streamed online for the world to see.

As well as the Royal Premiere taking place, the film went on general release across the UK the same night.

Skyfall premiered at the Royal Albert Hall on this day in 2012.

Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond film in EON Productions’ long running series, premièred at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 23rd October 2012.

The film was Daniel Craig’s third outing as 007 and directed by Sam Mendes. Skyfall went on to become the first Bond movie to earn more than $1 billion worldwide.

On this day in 2005 Daniel Craig was unveiled as the new James Bond.

Daniel Craig - New James Bond movie Casino Royale

Daniel Craig was announced as the new James Bond on 14th October 2005.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson introduced the rather nervous Craig at an event on HMS Belfast on the Thames. Craig arrived on a speedboat accompanied by the Royal Marines and immediately came under attack by part of the fan base, as well as a sustained attack by the UK tabloid press throughout the filming of Casino Royale.

Of course, Craig got to have the last laugh as Casino Royale was a huge success.
