Albert “Cubby” Broccoli, who co-founded Eon Productions with partner Harry Saltzman to make Dr No and went on to produce the long-running James Bond film series, died on 27th June 1996.

Cubby Broccoli was born in New York City on this day in 1909. He partnered with Harry Saltzman to bring 007 to the big screen and remained involved with the James Bond movies until Licence To Kill.
